Deputy Governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) for International Organizations and Agreements Fareed Bin Saeed Al-Asaly and Chief Negotiator for Climate Agreements and Minister of Energy's special adviser on sustainability Khalid Abuleif met with the Omani Sherpa to G20 and Advisor to the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Pankaj Khimji and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, presentations were made on the Kingdom's preparations for the Indian presidency of the G20 and the mechanism for the team's participation in trade and investment working group meetings, as well as energy transformations and climate change. The meeting also discussed ways to enhance cooperation with Oman in the presence of representatives from GAFT and the Ministry of Energy. They addressed priorities in trade and investment and their relation to the themes of energy transformations and climate change listed on the agenda of this year's Indian presidency. Oman has received an invitation from the Indian Presidency of the G20 to participate in the G20 Summit and meetings as this year's guest, along with the UAE, Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Singapore and Spain. More than 150 meetings are expected to occur at the G20 at various paths, followed by the G20 Leaders' Summit and invited countries on Sept. 9 and 10, 2023, in New Delhi. — SPA
