SHEFFIELD, United Kingdom — Former finalist Judd Trump eased through to the second round of the snooker World Championship Wednesday after finishing off Welshman Dominic Dale at the Crucible. Englishman Trump, 23, never looked in danger of joining the big names who have already been knocked out of this year's tournament as he produced breaks of 104, 73 and 61 to seal a 10-5 win after starting the morning session with a 6-3 overnight lead. Ding Junhui also made comfortable progress with a 10-5 win over Scottish veteran Alan McManus. Thailand's Dechawat Poomjaeng held his nerve to edge sixth seed Stephen Maguire 10-9 Tuesday. — AP
