RIYADH — The number of e-devices contributed by participants in the "recycle your device" initiative of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), reached more than 40,000 e-devices so far.
CITC said that the individuals' activation with the initiative reveals their awareness of the importance of the environmental sustainability in the society, and the responsibility they bear towards its individuals.
The value of the e-devices, which were contributed by the participants, have exceeded more than SR1 million, CITC confirmed.
It has noted that the initiative has witnessed interaction from many entities in the business sector, alongside with several individuals who were keen to participate through the available channels in the initiative.
It is noteworthy that CITC has launched the initiative in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), National Center for Waste Management (MWAN) and the private sector, in a step to reduce the waste resulting from the e-devices.
Additionally, to contribute in reducing the future costs of raw materials, and to preserve Saudi Arabia's natural resources in order to achieve sustainability in accordance with the principle of the circular economy.
CITC has renewed its invitation to all the citizens and residents to participate in the "recycle your device" initiative, and donate with their unused e-devices before the initiative ends on Jan. 31, through the following link: https://ca.cst.gov.sa/l/recycle
