RIYADH — The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) has announced the start of localizing customer services professions and the second phase of legal professions throughout Saudi Arabia. This was implemented after the completion of the grace period specified for localizing these activities. This is also continuous to the efforts of MHRSD which aims in providing a productive and stimulating work environment for Saudi men and women to increase their participation in the labor market and strengthen their contribution in the economic system in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030. The decision of localizing customer services profession by 100% includes the establishments who provide customer services as a main activity, or as a supportive activity, or those who outsource this service to another party to serve their customer via social media, in addition to the leadership and supervisory positions. The second phase of the legal professions will be 70% of the total number of workers with legal consulting professions in the facility. The second phase targets all the companies and law firms and the legal consultancy office in Saudi Arabia in which legal consultants work, which includes the professions of a legal consultant for public systems, and a legal consultant for private systems. MHRSD also indicated that the minimum wage should be SR5,500 for holders of a bachelor's degree, noting that the localizing percentage in the first phase of the decision was at 50%. It is noteworthy that MHRSD will provide private sector institutions with a lot of support to help them employ Saudis, such as helping the hiring process and job stability for Saudis, supporting the process of searching for suitable workers and many more.
