The 6th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII), being currently held at the King Abdul Aziz International Conference Center, included a panel discussion titled "Our Humanity, Our Priority" on Tuesday. Former Prime Minister of Bhutan Dasho Tshering Tobgay, Founder and President of the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa and a 2011 Nobel Peace Laureate Leymah Gbowee, and Founder of the Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation and a 2014 Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi took part. The session went over the importance of investment in humanity to address poverty and unemployment, as well as facing climate change and caring for the planet. Speakers also said that investment in humanity is an investment for the future and building peace in communities with the importance of finding proper solutions to provide a decent life for mankind. They stressed the importance of investing in the future youth and the significance of providing programs to the children to help them build the future. Discussions also addressed the fact of more than 1.2 billion people around the world leaving the extreme poverty over the past three decades and yet many today are still suffering from high living costs, social inequality, unemployment and weak social protection systems. Speakers urged leaders, policy makers and workers in the humanitarian field to give priority to social interests and make necessary procedures to ensure that the global community is fairer and to look for the best framework to support human progress in a better way. — SPA
