CEO of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute Richard Attias stressed the importance of sessions and discussions that will be addressed during the sixth edition of the initiative to be held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh between October 25 and 27 under the theme: "Investing in Humanity: Enabling a New Global Order". During a press conference organized by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) at the convention center, in the presence of SPA President Fahad bin Hassan Al Agran, leaders of FII initiative and representatives of media outlets, Attias said that the number of participants in the sixth edition reaches 6,000 people, while 500 speakers will take part in 180 sessions that will be held at the same time, in addition to 30 workshops and four mini summits distributed over three days to discuss important issues like balancing success with sustainability and geo-economic increase and equality in an unequal world and what world leaders face to restore the world to the pre-COVID situation and the hard and unexpected challenges facing the world. During a presentation and panel discussion at the press conference that was preceded by a recorded film on FII Institute, goals and ambitions, he said that the first day sessions will host a group of Nobel laureates which will try to find sustainable solutions for meeting the global population's basic needs, and go over the challenges brought on by the new global order, as well as the opportunities that arise from it, such as creating an economic system that improves the quality of life for citizens around the world. In addition, the first summit at the conference will be held on the first day under the theme "Clash of Generations". He said that the agenda for the second day of the conference will include "The New Energy Economy" summit and will see speakers share their insights into the current state of the global finance and economy sector, and the role of some countries, like Japan, in supporting financing the sustainable energy. Attias said that the third and last day of the conference will see two immersive summits about the rise of crypto and the future of Africa with the participation of a group of speakers from China and Hong Kong to discuss the importance of partnership between China and the Middle East and another session about economic and social governance. He also stressed that FII Institute is a non-profit organization that implements several initiatives with the aim of effecting positive impact on humanity, especially that the institute is a platform that supports economy and the youth, noting that the priority before the pandemic is different than the one after the pandemic, where post-pandemic priorities have become concerned with the housing cost, financial security and jobs. Regarding the 6th edition of FII and how to be aware of the new global order and its empowerment, the CEO stressed the importance of multilateral cooperation to build a new global order, noting that the G20 summit, during the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's presidency, stressed the importance of cooperation to contribute to and be able to combating the COVID-19 pandemic and solve all relevant issues. He also stressed the importance of the participation of the public and private sectors, which is the approach that the Saudi government adopts in its mega projects that made a huge impact through cooperation between the two sectors, something which the initiative will focus on during discussions. The CEO also reiterated the need to having a global commitment to the humanitarian dimensions and investing in this field. Responding to a question by the Saudi Press Agency "SPA" about the share of the energy sectors, rising prices, and the global health economy in the initiative, Richard Attias said that the speakers will address, during one of the sessions, these sectors due to their importance, with the participation of Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy and several senior leaders involved in discussing the energy field, while many of the executives will address the health care and other issues. Attias explained that the world has now changed and is moving towards a global order that revolves around how people think differently, and how investment is different, noting that "we must understand how this new change occurs in terms of investment, in terms of migration, and in terms of sectors and the new ones that began to appear, and the assertion that the new global order has nothing to do with international politics." He added that investing means creating or generating added value for all stakeholders, noting that what the Public Investment Fund is doing, for example, in investing in many sectors, creating many jobs, and benefiting from experts, has made what it has achieved in the last five years a positive success story, that attracts many stakeholders to work with Fund and share these investments, and the Fund's inspiring work inspires so many people around the world. He indicated that "the Kingdom focuses on humanitarian issues. This is represented by the (NEOM) project launched by HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and it is one of the outstanding projects that will make a qualitative leap for the Kingdom's future, which is being built for the future of humanity, and how to live within a sustainable environment," pointing out that the Kingdom is constantly launching new projects that take into account the quality of life, which is part of humanity, which we must take into account in this initiative. The CEO of the FII Institute drew attention to the fact that FII relies on 4 main pillars to achieve the initiative: (education, artificial intelligence, health care, and providing solutions that help sustainability), explaining that Kingdom-based FII, was able to be different from other initiatives with regards to the importance given the volume of participation, attendance and distinguished participants, some of whom are Nobel laureate, while others head several major international companies, noting that the conference will be the first of its kind in the world simply because it works on knowing the priorities in the new global order and dealing with them. In his response to journalists' questions during the press conference, Richard Attias said that the sixth edition of the FII conference will discuss the new global order, the key risks, challenges, opportunities, and new prospects, in addition to holding several dialogue sessions and various workshops, calling on journalists and media professionals to actively attend the sessions of the conference over its three days, and to benefit from the participation of international figures, which will enrich the interaction with media outlets whom the initiative consider an essential partner.
