Mohammed Al-Shoaiby Saudi Gazette RIYADH — Princess Nouf Bint Faisal Bin Turki Monday announced the launch of the third Al-Ghad Forum for the Kingdom's youth, under the banner “together we build accomplishment.” The three-day forum starting May 5 is an initiative of Al-Ghad Foundation, set up in 2009 under the honorary presidency of Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz. It focuses its efforts on supporting the Kingdom's youth by offering them a platform from which they can achieve their goals. “The youth are our country's treasure and the foundation for its development,” said Princess Nouf Bint Faisal, Al-Ghad Foundation's president. “At Al-Ghad Foundation, we create an appropriate environment and the necessary facilities to allow the Kingdom's youth to experiment, plan and execute a wide range of projects,” she said. Al-Ghad Foundation has reached out to 600,000 active, young Saudis across the Kingdom's regions, along with 60 ambassadors that work in various parts of the nation to nurture the youth's potential for achievement. “We are visiting every university in the Kingdom as part of Al-Ghad Forum's Convoy, which is made of 60 members — two males and two females from each region — chosen at random,” said Princess Nouf. “Al-Ghad's ambassadors are working in every region of the Kingdom to reach out to the best of our youth.” Al-Ghad Forum is the foundation's main event, which started in 2009 and convenes every two years, with 120 speakers from Al-Ghad Foundation's brightest and most active young members. “Every young Saudi has the potential for greatness,” Princess Nouf added. “Greatness is the ability of this young Saudi to stand out in his or her thoughts and their pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment.” Princess Nouf said Al-Ghad Forum is organized on the basis of an open invitation to all the country's youth to attend, collaborate and participate in the foundation's vision. In 2011, Al-Ghad Foundation organized TEDxRiyadh, an independently organized world-renowned international conference, under the banner of the New York-based Technology, Education and Design (TED) company. “TEDxRiyadh is a review of the successes and accomplishments of our youth, and we are pleased to hear about these success stories from our own young minds,” said Princess Nouf. “We hope to shed light on every aspect of our youth's accomplishments in the Kingdom.” Al-Ghad Foundation will be organizing TEDxRiyadh once more for 2013. The foundation launched the hash-tag “#accomplishment” (translated from Arabic), reportedly to allow the Kingdom's youth to communicate with one another on Twitter under Al-Ghad Forum's banner “together we build accomplishment.”
