MAGELANG — Saudi Arabia's Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan said that the Kingdom supports plans to integrate culture in promoting sustainability and development. The minister said that Saudi Arabia supports all efforts to ensure the integration of culture with public policies to achieve sustainable development goals. Prince Badr made the remarks while addressing the ministerial meeting of the culture ministers of the G20 countries in Borobudur in the Indonesian region of Magelang on Tuesday. The meeting is being held within the program of international conferences held on the sidelines of the Indonesian G20 Presidency year. At the outset of the speech, Prince Badr thanked Indonesian Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim for his appreciated efforts in the cultural path of the Group of Twenty during the Indonesian presidency. The minister affirmed that the Kingdom is proud of its initiative to hold the first joint meeting of culture ministers in the G20 on the sidelines of the Saudi presidency in 2020. He also appreciated the efforts of the Indonesian presidency in continuing the momentum to consolidate culture in the Group of Twenty. "The Kingdom affirms its commitment to enhancing the role of culture as an enabler," he said while calling for a broader exploration of the benefits of the creative economy, and supporting the mobilization of international resources to popularize sustainable recovery. Prince Badr affirmed that everyone's commitment to cooperation in the cultural path of the G20 would contribute to achieving the common goals.
