JEDDAH — The 22nd Saudi Building and Interiors Exhibition (SBIE) 2013 concluded successfully on Wednesday to acclaim from exhibitors and attendees. Nearly 250 manufacturers gathered in this four-day exhibition, which showcased their products and attracted more than 20,000 visitors. The exhibition, which featured the participation of Jeddah Mayor Hani Aburas, displayed materials and hardware in climate control, construction equipment and tools, electricity and lighting, environmental conservation, marble, granite and stones, safety technology, security and fire prevention measures, water technology and waste management. According to Zahoor Siddique, Vice President of Al-Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE), the exhibition received an excellent response from visitors and exhibitors, establishing the importance of SBIE as a major event in the building and interiors industry. All exhibitors expressed satisfaction at the numerous positive Inquiries and trade deals generated during the show. He said: “For the past 21 years, the exhibition was keen to present major players of the building and interiors industry and this year more than 250 companies made their presence known at the exhibition platform, showcasing their latest products and innovations." Siddique also revealed that millions of business deals were achieved during the four-day exhibition. He said this demonstrated the success of SIBE and the leading role of ACE in organizing prestigious conferences and exhibitions with high efficiency in terms of participants and attendees. The majority of exhibitors at SBIE have booked their spaces for next year's show. On the sidelines of the exhibition, the Construction Machinery Showcase, considered the largest heavy construction machinery event in the region and organized jointly by Dubai-based publishing house CPI and ACE, occupied over 20,000 square meters of outdoor space. A high profile symposium discussing topical issues and latest developments and challenges in the field, organized by the Saudi Quality Council and addressed by leading experts in the industry, was also held in conjunction with the exhibition.
