Khalid Bin Fadl Aqil, deputy mayor of Jeddah, will inaugurate this year's Saudi Building & Interiors Exhibition (SBIE) at the Jeddah Center for Forums & Events on Sunday. Zahoor Siddique, exhibitions director, Al-Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE), organizer of the event, told the Saudi Gazette on Thursday that the show, held under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and the Jeddah Mayoralty, will remain open daily from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. for businessmen, traders and industry professionals. He said the event is Saudi Arabia's 19th comprehensive showcase for the industry. “The 15,000 square meters exhibition, with over 500 companies from 20 countries, establishes Saudi Building & Interiors Exhibition as the largest show organized in a decade for the building, construction and interiors sectors,” he said. Siddique further said the exhibition, which will be marked by a high-profile seminar by the Saudi Quality Council, has gained further importance due to the ongoing construction boom with innumerable public and private sector projects that are under way. He said the exhibition profile is divided into Building and Interiors. The Building profile includes building materials and hardware, climate control, construction equipment and tools, electricity and lighting, environmental conservation, marble, granite and stone, technology, safety, security and fire prevention, water technology and waste management. On the interiors side, the profile includes hotels and leisure, office environment, outdoors and landscape design, schools and hospitals, shopping malls and restaurants, and The Home. “Like in the previous SBIE exhibitions, the SBIE'10 will also be marked by exhibitors introducing new products and services specifically to meet the needs of the construction boom that continues unabated,” Siddique said.
