JEDDAH — A Yemeni national was arrested after claiming about having a new scheme to correct the status of some expatriates. The Makkah region police spokesman said that the investigations carried out by the security forces resulted in the identification of a person who appeared in a video clip, speaking inside a banquet hall in Jeddah in front of an audience who gathered upon his invitation. During the speech, the man, who was identified as a Yemeni resident, claimed about a forthcoming scheme to correct the status of some expatriates in the Kingdom. It was revealed in the investigations that his claims were not based on official grounds. Legal measures were taken against the man after his arrest, and he was then referred to the Public Prosecution, the spokesman added.
