A Saudi man has been arrested on charges of photographing women without their consent and harassing them. According to video clips appearing on social media networks, the man, whose name has not been disclosed, verbally abused the women after clicking them, and later uploaded the pictures on Snapchat. A Riyadh Police spokesman said the man, in his 30s, was identified and arrested. He confessed to his crime and has been referred to the competent authority for prosecution under the Penal Code and Anti-Cyber Crime Law. The Saudi Anti-Cyber Crime Law aims to protect public interest and morals, and safeguard people's privacy. Clicking unauthorized pictures or recording video clips with mobile phones is a crime under this law, attracting a jail term of up to one year and/or a fine up to SR 500,000.
