King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) handed over 2,700 tons of dates for the World Food Program (WFP) in Aden to be distributed for 1,785,000 individuals in seven Yemeni governorates, as part of the support of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, for the brotherly Yemeni people. Acting Office Director of WFP in Aden Mohammed Sheikh praised the in-kind assistance offered from KSrelief for the underprivileged people in Yemen. He added that the aid arrived just on time during the holy month of Ramadan, when food needs of households increase. The distribution process is implemented according to an accurate mechanism that targets those who are in need. With the start of Ramadan, Saudi Arabia embarked on distributing 5,000 tons of dates for 13 Yemeni governorates as part of a project to distribute dates in Yemen for the 1443 Hijri year, targeting more than 600,000 needy families. This assistance is part of the annual Saudi contribution for several Arab and Islamic countries, including Yemen, through KSrelief. Food baskets in Tajikistan On Wednesday, KSrelief distributed 787 food baskets in Tajikistan, as part of the Ramadan feeding initiative. The distribution included the areas of Dushanbe, Rasht, Kulab and Aini, benefiting 3,935 people. The initiative aims to provide the basic food needs for more than 51,000 beneficiaries from the neediest groups in Tajikistan during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1443 AH. — SPA
