The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) is intensifying its inspection and control tours of food facilities, warehouses and distribution centers in all regions of the Kingdom to ensure compliance with regulations, technical requirements and approved specifications. SFDA indicated that this includes carrying out periodic inspection and control tours of the facilities under its control, with a focus on food items that are frequently consumed during the holy month of Ramadan. Inspectors of the authority seized 1.5 tons of foodstuffs stored in violation of storage requirements in one of the facilities in Al-Ahsa governorate. SFDA explained that the facility was found to be storing foodstuffs in violation of the technical requirements and regulations, in addition to the presence of rodent droppings in the site. As a result, those products were seized and legal measures were taken against the violating facility. It called on consumers to report any such violations by calling the unified number (19999) or via the Tammini app available on both iOS and Android. — SPA
