RIYADH — The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) predicted weather fluctuations in most regions of Saudi Arabia until Sunday. There will be a significant decrease in temperatures in some regions of the country, while active winds, formations of thunder clouds and moderate to heavy rain in some other regions. According to the NCM forecast, the temperature will continue to fall in the eastern, central and southern regions of the Kingdom, accompanied by surface winds and a decrease in horizontal visibility. Sandstorm is likely to hit the interior parts of the southwestern and western regions of the Kingdom as well as Al-Jouf and Hail regions, whereas the low temperatures in Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha and parts of the eastern and central regions of the Kingdom will result in foggy weather. Surface winds accompanied by sandstorms will hit the regions of Buraidah, Hail, Makkah, Madinah, Tabuk, the Northern Border Region, Al-Jouf, and the western parts of the Riyadh region. The NMC said on its Twitter account the expected minimum temperatures on Thursday was 5 degrees Celsius in Arar; 6 degrees Celsius in Turaif and Hafr Al-Batin; 7 degrees Celsius in Tabuk, Sakaka, Al-Ahsa and Rafha; 8 degrees Celsius in Dammam, Buraidah, Al-Baha and Al Majmaah; 9 degrees in Abha, Hail and Al-Kharj; 10 degrees in Riyadh; 11 degrees in Najran and Wadi Al-Dawasir, 12 in Al-Ula; 16 in Madinah; 17 in Yanbu; 19 in Makkah; and 20 in Jeddah. The NCM forecast also showed that there would be surface wind movement on the Red Sea from northeast to northwest at a speed of 10-30 km per hour on the northern part, and north to northwest at a speed of 10-30 km/hr on the central and southern part, and the wave height would range from one meter to one and a half meters.
