The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf has renewed his call to the international community to confront Houthi terrorism that obstructs all international efforts aimed at resolving the Yemeni crisis. The resolution of the Yemeni crisis is to be according to the three references: the GCC Initiative, its executive mechanism, the outputs of the Comprehensive National Dialogue and the Security Council resolution No. 2216. Dr. Al-Hajraf made the remarks Tuesday while receiving UN Special Envoy of the Secretary-General in Yemen Hans Grundberg at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh. The Secretary General affirmed the support of the GCC for the efforts of the UN envoy and the UN efforts towards advancing the political track to resolve the Yemeni crisis, calling on the international community to exert more pressure on the Houthi militia, to engage seriously in the peace process to resolve the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the three references. He also expressed his strong condemnation of the continued targeting of civilians and civilian objects in Saudi Arabia with missiles and drones, as well as the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted Abu Dhabi International Airport Monday. These actions represent a flagrant violation of international law and a threat to the security and stability of the region, as this requires the terrorists to be held accountable in accordance with international Humanitarian law. — SPA
