RIYADH – Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Education announced the launching of the second edition of the foreign scholarship program titled the "Path of Excellence" for the academic year 2022-23. The last date for receiving applications for the program is May 5, 2022. The program, which is one of the tracks of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for Foreign Scholarships, is aimed to achieve comprehensive development goals in accordance with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, as well as to raise the level of academic qualification of students. The ministry said that the online application shall be submitted through the link of the ministry's Safeer platform, in accordance with the announced general terms and conditions, and the names of those who have qualified for the scholarship will be announced in June 2022. Muhammad Al-Sudairy, deputy minister of education for universities, research and innovation, said that the launch of the initiative is in response to the wise leadership's aspirations to invest in human capabilities and contribute to comprehensive development and meet the needs of the employment market in the future. Al-Sudairy revealed that 21 university majors in 19 countries around the world are included in the disciplines offered by the new edition of the Path of Excellence. These specializations are aimed to contribute to building a prosperous and diversified economy, as well as to support the Kingdom's promising sectors, and create an attractive competitive environment. Some new specialties such as fisheries, forestry and pasture management are included in the scholarship program for the first time. This program will enable Saudi students to pursue their higher studies in international universities to develop their knowledge and skills in various fields and specializations, he added.
