I was very happy to read Somayya Jabarti's article “90 days for us to right wrongs for guest workers!” in April 14 Saudi Gazette. It brought out many questions — both for expatriates and sponsors. I too have one, which I hope the government will address favorably. Some workers who are working with their sponsors' consent in firms with agreements, which is attested by Saudi government's chamber of commerce, then the sponsors are sub contractors of that particular company where the workers are working. Are they also illegal? If illegal can the government force the sponsors to transfer the kafalat to the company or the sponsors will send the workers back on an exit-only visa. I hope the authorities will force sponsors to transfer the kafalat to any of the firms, according to the workers and companies needs and requirements. Rashid Karim via email
