The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) concluded its participation in the activities of the Dubai Airshow 2021, which was held from Nov. 14 -18 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
During its five-day participation, the GACA's pavilion witnessed the visit of a number of ministers, dignitaries and CEOs of Saudi companies participating in the airshow, as well as those interested, investors and specialists in the aviation industry around the world.
The GACA's pavilion introduced the civil aviation sector's strategy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, GACA's modern and future projects in building, developing and modernizing airports around the Kingdom, and its most prominent investments. This is in addition to the developments that the civil aviation sector has witnessed in the Kingdom.
During the dialogue sessions held on the sidelines of the airshow, GACA presented a number of working papers in the field of civil aviation sustainability. This is in addition to participating in a session on reducing demand and capacity variables in operations, plus a session on crisis management in the aviation industry, and a session on updating training regulations for the new world.
The participation of the Saudi civil aviation system in the exhibition was effective, as the Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation highlighted the training courses and programs it offers, while the Matarat Holding Company reviewed the achievements of the Kingdom's airports and its latest projects.
Also, a number of promising future investment opportunities for the aviation sector in the Kingdom were presented to the international aviation community. The Saudi Air Navigation Services Company also presented modern technologies, digital towers, and awards achieved at the level of the Middle East.
As for Altanfeethi Company, it presented investment opportunities and development projects and discussed the creation of strategic partnerships. Meanwhile, Riyadh Airports Company, Dammam Airports Company and Jeddah Airports Company reviewed investment and expected growth opportunities.
Flynas worked on increasing its presence as a leading national carrier in the region and highlighting the latest products and services.
The participation witnessed the signing of a set of agreements with the most important manufacturers of aircraft components, as the Saudi Arabian Airlines concluded 9 agreements with major air transport companies.
Flyadeal signed an agreement with GE Aviation, which all confirm the move towards the localization of the aviation and air transport industry and maximizing the manufacturing capacity and local content in the Kingdom.
Moreover, Riyadh Airports Company also signed a memorandum of understanding with Honeywell to explore opportunities for using integrated technology and automation solutions at King Khalid International Airport, while Altanfeethi Company signed a cooperation agreement with Al Arabiya Company. — SPA
