Published in Saudi Press Agency on 14 - 11 - 2019

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and a number of national entities in the civil aviation sector will participate in the Dubai Airshow 2019, which will be held from 17th to 21st of November at Al Maktoum International Airport in the United Arab Emirates.
Through its participation, GACA aims to identify investment opportunities and review the civil aviation sector projects in the construction, development and improvement of its 28 airports throughout the Kingdom. This is in addition to the developments achieved by the civil aviation sector in the Kingdom, and GACA's readiness for the next qualitative stage in the industry. This comes after the issuance of tourist visa at airports, where the Kingdom will start to receive an increasing number of tourists.
Talal Al-Obailan, Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing, explained that the participation of GACA in this important gathering comes to highlight the achievements of the civil aviation sector and review the existing projects and highlight the bright side of civil aviation in the Kingdom. This is in light of the expansion witnessed by the aviation sector in the region through the establishment and development of airports and the effort being made to acquire its fair share of the aviation market, meet directly with various civil aviation related entities, and discuss developments and challenges facing the aviation industry in the region.
Al-Obailan revealed that the participation of GACA comes to review the achievements of the civil aviation and investment opportunities for this vital sector. This is in addition to the participation of many other entities in GACA's pavilion at the airshow, namely the General Investment Authority, the Saudi Civil Aviation Holding Company represented by Riyadh Airports Company and Dammam Airports Company, Saudi Arabian Airlines, flynas, TAQNIA Space Company and the Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation.
Al-Obailan went on to say that the airshow is an independent platform through which to introduce a better vision and the latest developments, innovations, emerging technologies, technologies and services related to air transport. This is in light of the expected estimates that indicate an increase of the number of passengers in the coming years; thus making the air transport industry and airports searching for ways to deal with the surge in passengers number. This is in addition to the promotion and upgrading of its current facilities.
It is worth noting that the airshow is considered one of the platforms through which companies can showcase their products and services related to airports and aviation. It is also a chance to highlight their latest expansion plans, where it will provide a unique environment in which to identify the latest innovations used in the construction and equipping of airports, and the latest solutions, technologies and services related to airports.
