JEDDAH — The North Indian Fraternity Forum (NIFF) organized a get-together on Thursday for its members and their families. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar, vice chancellor of Integral University, Lucknow, Dr. Khursheed Akhtar, chairman of International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) and Azhar Zai, IISJ management committee member. Akhtar highlighted the achievements of the Integral University and invited parents to visit the campus, which has a vast and experienced faculty and pleasant environment. During the event, a presentation on “awareness of opportunities for NRI's in Indian capital market for a better tomorrow” was presented by Memon A. Kader Sait, sectoral head for promotion of Indian Investments in Saudi Indian Business Network (SIBN). He highlighted the progress during India's post liberalization, which had resulted in the creation of wealth for investors in India. He also shared information of the past achievements of India and presented the forecast for India 2020. His presentation provided details of how the NRI community can avail these opportunities to secure a better tomorrow for their families and create a healthy pension for their happy retirement . T S Prathapan of Aloula Geojit Capital, a listed company in Indian securities and the only Saudi-Indian company licensed by CMA, spoke about small investment opportunities and methodology of savings for a secured retirement. He also explained the process behind opening an account in the Kingdom and their efficiency to assist everyone as they have offices in Jeddah and Riyadh. The presentation and the inter-active session was appreciated by the audience. Several cultural activities, games and a snacks cooking competition added flavor and fun to the evening; melodious songs sung by guest artists Abdul Rafe and his associate singers enthralled the audience. Gifts and prizes were distributed to winners, which were partially sponsored by Mohammed Shahzad, Al Kabeer and Ajooba Rice. — SG
