Saudi-led Coalition intercepts, destroys three Houthi ballistic missiles
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 10 - 11 - 2021

The Saudi-led Arab Coalition to support Yemen's legitimacy on Wednesday intercepted and destroyed three ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi militia against the southern part of Saudi Arabia, according to a Coalition statement.
The Coalition was quoted by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying in a statement that it has aborted Houthi militia's indiscriminate attempts to target civilians and property, vowing to take necessary action to neutralize the militia's capabilities in line with international humanitarian law.
GCC Secretary General Nayef Al-Hajraf, leading a wave of condemnation, on Wednesday decried the firing of three ballistic missiles by the Houthi militia in the direction of South Saudi Arabia.
Al-Hajraf, in a statement, denounced the terrorist militia's targeting of civilians and civilian targets in Saudi Arabia and lauded forces of the Saudi-commanded Coalition and the Saudi Air Force for confronting the terrorist attacks carried out by the terrorist Houthi militia.
He affirmed the GCC support for the Kingdom with respect of the measures it takes to retaliate for the actions by the terrorists and safeguard the Kingdom sanctity.
Meanwhile, the kingdom of Bahrain has condemned the launch of ballistic missiles by the terrorist Houthi militia towards the Southern region in the Kingdom, in a systematic terrorist act targeting civilians and civilian objects, asserting that these attacks contradict the international humanitarian laws.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Bahrain's support for Saudi Arabia in all the measures it takes to protect its security, stability and territorial integrity, praising the vigilance of the Saudi Air Defense Forces, which were able to intercept and destroy the missiles. It also called on the international community to take strict decisions to stop these heinous terrorist attacks.
Also, the Republic of Djibouti condemned the continued targeting of civilians, civilian objects and economic installations in Saudi Arabia by the coup militias in Yemen, including the ballistic missile attacks towards the Southern Region and the previous targeting of Khamis Mushait with drones as well as all attacks targeting the Yemeni cities, such as Marib and Mocha.
The republic of Djibouti asserted that these acts are hostile and represent war crimes that require the international community to adopt a strict stance towards the aggressor and the supporter of this aggressor.
Djibouti Ambassador Dia Al-Deen Bamakhrama, who is also dean of the diplomatic corps, affirmed that the Coalition forces have the right to take measures that protect citizens and residents on its territory in accordance with the international humanitarian laws and norms.
