RIYADH — The Ministry of Interior announced Sunday that it has started issuing institutional quarantine premises licenses for unvaccinated workers from outside the Kingdom from the countries that are not facing travel ban. The Ministry of Interior spokesman Lt. Col. Talal Al-Shalhoub, at the press conference here on Sunday, stressed that the use of the national ID to travel is still suspended. The official spokesman said that during the week, 742 violations of the precautionary and preventive measures against the coronavirus were detected. In the same press conference, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing spokesman Saif Al-Suwailem confirmed that wearing masks in closed areas and checking health status through Twakkalna app is still mandatory. The most prominent violations observed on facilities, wedding halls and events since the decision of the Ministry of Interior to ease health procedures was negligence in adhering to health procedures, he added. On his side, The Ministry of Health official spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali stated that it is important to receive the booster dose for those who have received both doses, as it enhances immunity. The booster dose is currently available to all those who received the two doses, provided that the date of the second dose passes 6 months, he said. The official spokesman also said that the number of deaths has exceeded five million around the world. New COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia stayed below the 50-mark for the second straight day on Sunday, with 46 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours.
