Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Eng. Saleh Bin Nasser Al-Jasser has inspected the model cargo village at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, which includes a number of warehouses, a logistics site, and the deposit and re-export area. The inspection tour was conducted in the presence of GACA President Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah Al-Duailej; CEO Eng. Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Mansour; and Chief Executive Officer of Dammam Airports Company Fahd Bin Suleiman Al-Harbi. Al-Jasser was briefed by CEO of Dammam Airports Company on the lands available for investment and the facilities provided in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030, noting that Dammam Airports Company is working on completing the general strategy that works to link Qaisumah Airport with Hafr Al-Batin and Al-Ahsa Airport with King Fahd International Airport in freight and passenger service, based on the competitive advantages of each airport. Al-Jasser also visited the Singaporean company SATS, which provides ground handling services to shipping companies, and inspected the workflow in express transport companies. He directed to intensify efforts and speed up achievement in order to reach the ambitious goals in the transport and logistics strategy. These field visits come as a follow up on the development programs and to check on the efficiency of performance at the Kingdom's airports. The model cargo village at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam seeks to be the first among similar entities at a regional level and an advanced logistic center that provides all means for logistics service providers and technical support companies. This is in addition to being the first cargo village in the Kingdom that provides innovative and creative solutions through its vision to connect all strategic and key locations with multiple access points and connect them to the outside world by land, sea and air. — SPA
