Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdurrahman Bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli confirmed the success of Saudi Arabia's experience in the sustainable rural agricultural development program. The program, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, embodies the interest being accorded to the small farmers citing an amount of $3.2 billion allocated for supporting the program. This came during the minister's speech Saturday at the meeting of the G20 Agriculture Ministers in Florence, Italy. He also added that agricultural investments in the Kingdom, funded by the Agricultural Development Fund, have grown over the past four years by about (400%), which has contributed to building a flexible and sustainable food system. The G20 Agriculture Ministers' Meeting 2021 is one of the ministerial meetings organized as part of the G20 Leaders Summit 2021, which will be hosted by Italy in October 2021. The G20, under the Italian Presidency, will focus on three broad, interconnected pillars of action: People, Planet, Prosperity. Within these pillars, the G20 aims to take the lead in ensuring a swift international response to the COVID-19 pandemic — able to provide equitable, worldwide access to diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines — while building up resilience to future health-related shocks. Each G20 Presidency includes the organization of ministerial meetings on each of the main focus areas of the forum.
