JAZAN — Six medical students narrowly escaped death when their bus caught fire after driving through the scene of another accident. The bus taking the students to university had to stop when a diesel tanker overturned and caught fire. Fuel spilled from the tanker was burning on a large area of the road. While the Civil Defense was dealing with the accident, the bus driver did not want to wait until the road was clear. He tried to speed through the fire ignoring warnings from the Civil Defense officers. The bus caught fire as a result. Civil Defense officers intervened and saved the women students and the driver, but the bus was completely torched. The incident resulted in the road leading to the university being closed for more than two hours. The students and the driver were not harmed.
