ROME — Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan met here on Sunday with his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio on the sidelines of the meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh (the so-called IS). During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them in various fields to serve the interests of the two countries. They exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest. The two foreign ministers also reviewed the initiatives and fruitful results of the Kingdom's presidency of the G20 during the past year, and the importance of following up and completing them during Italy's presidency of the G20 this year. The initiatives included the efforts made to address the coronavirus pandemic, the adoption of important policies that would achieve economic recovery from the effects of the pandemic, the activation of efforts to make the global trading system work for all, and the creation of conditions for sustainable development. The two sides also discussed the importance of strengthening joint action in light of the Kingdom's 2030 vision.
