Dr. Al Rabeeah meets with UNHCR regional representative to GCC States

Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah met in Riyadh Monday with Regional Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States Khaled Khalifa.
The meeting reviewed relief and humanitarian projects being implemented by KSrelief in countries in need, especially Yemen, and the Saudi efforts towards Yemeni and Syrian refugees and Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
The meeting also discussed ongoing joint executive programs co-signed by KSrelief and UNHCR, in addition to challenges facing implementation of programs and ways to overcome these challenges.
Khalifa praised KSrelief's pioneering humanitarian work and its service to refugees around the world, expressing his pride in the strategic partnership between the Center and UNHCR.
KSrelief delivers medical
aid to Al-Sadaqa Hospital
In Aden, KSrelief on Monday handed over a batch of medical aid to Yemeni Ministry of Health containing 10 tons and 200 kilograms of emergency medications, intravenous fluids, and other medical items for the Al-Sadaqa Hospital in Aden.
Director General of Al-Sadaqa Hospital Dr. Kefaya Jazei thanked KSrelief for the ongoing support to the Yemeni people, explaining that the medical assistance received today will alleviate the suffering of the patients who are facing difficult economic conditions.
KSrelief implements 13
medical campaigns
In Aden, KSrelief, in cooperation with Al-Basar International Foundation, implemented 13 voluntary medical campaigns to combat blindness and its causes in Aden and Mukalla, Yemen, during the first quarter of 2021, benefiting 13,547 individuals.
During the campaigns, KSrelief's teams performed 4,000 surgeries, distributed 8,000 glasses and lenses, and dispensed 17,080 medicines and eye drops, targeting families and individuals with limited income.
The campaigns fall within the Saudi support for the health sector in Yemen to alleviate the current humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
KSrelief medical campaign to
fight blindness in Pakistan
In Islamabad, KSrelief has continued implementing the voluntary medical campaign to combat blindness and its causes in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
During the campaign, KSrelief's medical team examined 4,000 eye patients, performed 400 eye surgeries and provided 400 glasses in Karachi, Pakistan. Meanwhile, the medical team examined 4,100 eye patients, performed 402 eye surgeries and provided 750 glasses in Khuzdar.
KSrelief's medical campaigns aim at providing the necessary medical care for families and individuals of limited income who suffer from eye diseases in a number of countries, according to an agreement with the Al-Basar International Foundation.
KSrelief distributes 4,254
food baskets to Rohingyas
The KSrelief, in cooperation with Muslim World League (MWL), has continued distributing food baskets to Rohingya refugees and needy families in Bangladesh.
KSrelief's team distributed yesterday 4,254 food baskets in Cox's Bazar and Dhaka, Bangladesh, benefitting 21,270 individuals.
KSrelief aims at providing and distributing 80,000 food baskets to 500,000 Rohingya refugees and needy families in Bangladesh to alleviate their suffering. — SPA
