During the meeting with the Jordanian foreign minister, the UN envoy discussed efforts aimed at finding a solution to a political solution that restores Yemen's security and stability.
In the meeting, the Jordanian minister underlined the need to step up international efforts to end the Yemeni crisis through a political solution in accordance with Security Council resolution, Jordan's news agency (Petra) reported.
Safadi also called for the implementation of the Stockholm Agreement, the Hodeidah Agreement, and the Saudi initiative to reach a political solution in Yemen that restores its security and stability and ends the suffering of its people.
He also renewed Jordan's condemnation of all terrorist acts carried out by the Houthis that target Saudi Arabia and its security, stressing that the security of the Kingdom the Arab Gulf states is an integral part of Jordan's security.
Al-Safadi affirmed Jordan's solidarity with Saudi Arabia in all the steps it takes to protect its security.
Safadi thanked Griffiths for his "tireless" efforts and "continuous" pursuit to end the Yemeni crisis over the past three years.
The UN envoy valued Jordan's "continued" support for the United Nations mission in Yemen for hosting its headquarters, and lauded Amman's "pivotal" role, under the leadership of King Abdullah II in its efforts to resolve conflicts and regional crises and establish security and stability in the region.
