The Chairman of the Saudi-Mauritanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee of the Shoura Council Assaf Bin Salem Abuthnain received here Tuesday the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Sidi Aali Ould Sidi Aali. During the meeting, Abuthnain stressed the depth of bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Mauritania in various fields, citing the strength of parliamentary relations between the Shoura Council and Mauritanian Parliament. For his part, the Mauritanian Ambassador praised the level of bilateral relations between the two countries and endeavors made to strengthen them, hailing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's stances and keenness to bring about international peace and achieve world security. During the meeting, they reviewed a number of issues of common interest at the parliamentary level, pointing to ways to activate the role of parliamentary friendship committees at the Sh0ura Council and Mauritanian Parliament. In another development, Hazza Al-Qahtani, chairman of the Saudi-Cameroonian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, accompanied by members of the committee, held a meeting here Tuesday with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon Dr. Iya Tidjani. During the meeting, Al-Qahtani affirmed the importance of the parliamentary diplomacy in discussing issues and areas that enhance bilateral relations and joint cooperation, pointing to the role that parliamentary friendship committees might play in this context. The Cameroonian Ambassador praised the great services provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to pilgrims and Umrah performers, the achievements made to serve the Two Holy Mosques and the great developments witnessed by Saudi Arabia in various fields. — SPA
