JUBAIL — One person died and a number of others were injured after two picnic boats collided off Al Fanateer Beach in Jubail, the Saudi Press Agency reported early Thursday, citing a spokesman of the Border Guard. According to the SPA report, Col. Mesfer Bin Ghanam Al-Quraini, the spokesman of the Border Guard said that the Search and Rescue Coordination Center in Dammam received a report on Tuesday about the boat collision which resulted in the death of an expatriate and multiple injuries. The spokesman also said that all the injured were immediately taken to the hospital to receive the necessary medical care, urging all to be cautious and follow marine safety instructions while swimming in designated places. He called on the owners of boats, ships and watercraft to ensure their readiness to sail, carry out the necessary periodic maintenance, and contact the Border Guard emergency phone 994 in case they need help, wishing safety for all.
