JEDDAH — New coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia surged past 1,000 once again on Tuesday, with 1,047 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours. According to the Ministry of Health, 14 more people died over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the virus. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 435,027 and the virus-related fatalities to 7,188. The ministry also reported 847 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 419,761. The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of new cases with 326 followed by the Makkah region with 250 and the Eastern region with 122 infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just none of the reporting less than 10 infections. According to the ministry, there were 8,078 active cases and 1,384 of them were in critical condition.
