RIYADH — The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia recorded on Monday 842 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours. The ministry also announced 11 more deaths over the past 24 hours, marking the highest single-day fatalities from complications caused by the deadly virus. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 399,277 and the virus-related fatalities to 6,765. According to the ministry, 706 more patients recovered from COVID-19, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 384,027. The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of new cases with 365 followed by the Makkah region with 150 and the Eastern region with 147 infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just four of them reporting less than 10 infections. According to the ministry, there were 8,485 active cases and 950 of them were in critical condition.
