MAKKAH — Saudi Arabia's Acting Minister of Media Majid Al-Qasabi met here early Thursday with Bahraini Information Affairs Minister Ali Bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi. During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation in the field of media as well as means of enhancing and developing the cooperation. In a statement following the meeting, the Bahraini minister expressed his happiness to visit Saudi Arabia and be in Makkah during the blessed days of the holy month of Ramadan. He pointed out that the meeting with his Saudi counterpart was productive, in which a number of Gulf and Arab media affairs were discussed. Moreover, the two sides have agreed on a set of mechanisms and initiatives. The minister said that working groups will be formed in order to increase joint coordination to tackle challenges facing the region. Al-Romaihi also expressed his happiness about the arrangements made in Makkah, noting that Saudi Arabia, under its wise leadership, is exerting all efforts in the service of the Two Holy Mosques and worshipers. Earlier, Al-Qasabi met with the Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Culture, Abdulrahman bin Baddah Al-Mutairi, who is also Minister of State for Youths Affairs. During the meeting, issues of common interest and aspects of cooperation in the field of media between the two countries were reviewed within the framework of the common GCC media concerns. The meeting comes as part of the visit of the Kuwaiti senior media official to Saudi Arabia within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields. The Kuwait minister arrived in Jeddah on Wednesday and performed Umrah.
