DAMMAM — Four people were arrested recently in Al-Khobar for violating isolation and quarantine instructions after testing positive for coronavirus. The arrests were made by Al-Khobar Governorate police in coordination with the executive committee for following up the implementation of the precautionary measures against COVID-19. The police took all preliminary measures as per coronavirus regulations and referred them to the Public Prosecution branch, the Eastern Province Police Spokesman Lt. Col. Muhammad Bin Shaar Al-Shehri, stated. According to the regulations, violators of the anti-COVID-19 precautionary and preventive measures face varying degrees of punishment. Anyone who violates the quarantine or self-isolation directives faces a fine not exceeding SR200,000, or imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years, or with both penalties together. In case of repeated offenses, the previous penalty is doubled.
