RIYADH — The Arab Coalition on Tuesday intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia toward the Saudi city of Khamis Mushayt, Al-Ekhbariya TV reported. In a statement, the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said that the Houthi militia is continuing to target civilians and civilian facilities. The coalition forces are taking the necessary measures to protect civilians and civilian facilities in accordance with the customary international humanitarian law, the statement added. On Saturday, the coalition said it thwarted an imminent hostile attack by a booby-trapped boat by the Houthi militia in the southern Red Sea. Recently, the Iranian-backed militia has intensified its campaign to target civilians and vital installations in Saudi Arabia. The attacks have drawn condemnation from several Arab and Western countries. — SG
