RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Wednesday recorded 585 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, marking a steady increase over the last few days. According to the Ministry of Health, six more people died from complications caused by COVID-19 over the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 390,007 and the virus-related fatalities to 6,669. The ministry also reported 369 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 378,083. The Riyadh region recorded 234 new cases followed by the Eastern region with 110 and the Makkah region with 103 new infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with only three of them reporting less than 10 infections. According to the ministry, there were 5,225 active cases and 693 of them were in critical condition.
