The Ministry of Interior is continuing to expand the e-services it provides through its various platforms to facilitate matters for citizens and expatriates. In this regard, it added to the Civil Status Department five new services to the list for "Absher Individuals" platform. The new services include request for amending qualifications, name correction in English, amendment of social status, for linking the civil records of children to the mother, and a service for improving the developed version. It also launched the upgraded version of the Absher service meant for the deaf and hard of hearing, which allows the employee or beneficiary to communicate via (QR Code) technology with a sign language interpreter in the Unified Visual Call Center through contact points at all Civil Status Service stations Kingdomwide. In addition, the Ministry of Interior announced the launch of services for registering birth and death, in the Kingdom's representation offices abroad, in the countries they are residing in. The service that is implemented via the electronic link between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will facilitate for citizens residing abroad requesting registration of birth and death incidents that take place abroad. The Interior Ministry also launched the second version of the Meydan platform, which is one of the integrated security platforms to support the security work capabilities technically. It was supervised and implemented by national cadres from the Ministry of Interior. The second version of the platform comprises 14 electronic procedures, including reading the portable digital ID and security inquiries, verifying Hajj and Umrah permits, reporting traffic accidents to Road Security, and the identity of the electronic security man.
