RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health on Thursday recorded 482 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, marking the highest number of single-day infections in many months. The ministry also announced six more deaths over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 386,782 and the virus-related fatalities to 6,630. The ministry also reported 360 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 375,831. The single-day infections in the Riyadh region topped the 200-mark for the first time in many months with 204 new cases recorded on Thursday. The capital region was followed by the Makkah region with 84 cases and the Eastern region with 76 new infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just five of them reporting less than 10 infections. According to the ministry, there were 4,321 active cases and 622 of them were in critical condition.
