RIYADH — Saudi Border Guards thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of cannabis into the Kingdom through its southern borders, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The spokesman of the Border Guards Lt. Col. Misfer bin Ghannam Al-Quraini said that as part of ongoing operations, an attempt to smuggle 1.5 tons of cannabis was thwarted in Sharurah in the Najran region. He said that the regulatory procedures have been completed against the accused, affirming that the Border Guard men continue to firmly and resolutely confront all smuggling attempts.
