Global manufacturer Roxtec launches Saudi Arabian company
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 21 - 02 - 2021

Swedish-headquartered Roxtec is launching its subsidiary, Roxtec Saudi Arabia, building on more than 20 years of trading in the Kingdom. The company will be headquartered in the port city of Al Khobar in Eastern Saudi Arabia on the Arabian Gulf.
Roxtec Saudi Arabia Director of Middle East Operations Firas Kafafi said setting up the KSA subsidiary was a ‘natural progression' with Roxtec keen to fully support the government's Vision 2030 and ‘In Kingdom Total Value Add' (IKTVA) programs.
"Saudi Arabia is a key market for Roxtec," he said. "We know the country very well and now is the right time to set up a company here with the support of long- standing well known KSA customers.
"We understand the Kingdom is evolving and Roxtec Saudi Arabia can now play its part in the economic development and diversification agenda by investing here long term, employing local people and growing our local supply chain.
"This outlook fits well with Roxtec's ethos to be ‘globally local' — showing passion and knowledge for the countries where we work. Roxtec Saudi Arabia will be our 28th subsidiary and in total we operate in more than 80 markets."
Kafafi said Roxtec Saudi Arabia will be looking to build on its track record as the global leader in cable and pipe seals having worked with a wide range of companies in various industries in KSA.
Roxtec has a distinguished record of supply in KSA working on key projects in the telecoms and water industries. Additionally their product is a key component in the onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities in the Kingdom as well as the petrochemical plants.
"Roxtec is very diverse in the sectors we operate in," he said. "In KSA we will be extending our work in the maritime and shipyard industries as well as power, oil and gas, water, renewables, telecoms and the industrial markets.
"Our seals play a critical role in the safety of all these industries protecting people, buildings and assets. We have more than 250 products combined with 500 test and approval certificates.
"The products themselves provide protection from a range of hazards including fire, the risk of explosion, flooding, smoke, gas, humidity, dust, vibration and electromagnetic pulses. Key products and benefits for the Saudi Arabian market will be our technical invention
"Multidiameter, which is a solution for adaptability to cables and pipes of different sizes based on sealing modules with removable layers, and certified protection. We will be looking to work with more electrical, mechanical and instrumentation engineers offering innovative cost-saving solutions for cable and pipe seal applications."
Roxtec's seals are found all over the world from naval ships to nuclear power stations to windfarms. Famous applications include The Dubai Fountain, Wimbledon's Centre Court, the Shanghai Metro and Moscow's Formula One racetrack.
Roxtec was founded in Sweden in 1990. It is now the global leader in the manufacture of innovative cable and pipe transit systems, supplying many of the world's biggest firms. It is active in more than 80 markets.
Roxtec's products are designed to seal cables and pipes and are used to protect people, buildings and equipment from multiple hazards. Its key market sectors include Marine, Oil and Gas, Telecoms, Construction, Power (generation, distribution and transmission) OEM (e.g. trains, engines, motors, generators) and the Process Industries.
Roxtec has a Triple-A credit rating and is actively expanding into new areas offering innovative and safe sealing solutions to a variety of industries. — SG
