JEDDAH — Center for Information and Guidance India (CIGI) International is organizing webinars on Feb. 6 and 27 to unveil vast opportunities for pursuing higher studies and living in the United Kingdom.
The organizers of the event stated that registration is open for a limited number of students on a first come first serve basis. They urged those interested to register to log on to www.exluk.org/career-conference
Speaking to Saudi Gazette, CIGI International Chairman K.M Mustafa said that an exclusive session for the Middle East and Asian students, who are currently studying in classes from 8 to 12, is the highlight of this year's event to know all about studying in the UK.
"CIGI International is collaborating with EXL-UK, a non-for-profit NGO based in the UK, in giving this golden opportunity for students and parents to know more about doing undergraduate courses and living in the UK.
Mustafa said that the webinar is also part of CIGI's 25th anniversary campaign slogan of "Going beyond borders".
"We are keen to ensure the empowerment of the community by enabling our younger generation to tap the huge potential and explore avenues of top quality education in any part of the world, especially in UK and Germany. We have arranged free accommodation facility for students to stay for some days in the UK and there won't be any agents involved," he said.
Referring to the webinar, he said that it includes a general session, that will be followed by parallel sessions, separate for each stream such as medicine, environment, accounting, humanities, engineering and law. An interactive session also will be arranged for prospective students to learn from the experience of international students who are currently studying in the UK.
"Parents need to pay only a nominal fee of 20 pound sterling, instead of £500 that was levied for the same event last year," he said while noting, "The event is not to promote any particular university or college or stream of study but to educate the students and parents about the UK education system and step by step process to apply directly without the involvement of any third party agencies," he added.
CIGI is one of the largest NGOs of India with a vision to achieve an empowered, self-sufficient, vibrant and influential society. It aims to uplift and empower marginalized segments of the society right from its inception in 1996. As many as three million young men and women in India and the Gulf have benefited from its nearly quarter of a century-long intervention in the educational and social development fields.
There are thousands of committed, selfless and trained volunteers championing CIGI's defining courses persistently towards social development at the grass root level. Setting career guidance and educational empowerment as prime objectives, CIGI has been instrumental in supporting hundreds of thousands of young men and women to improve their talent and skills with activities like social action for grass root empowerment.
