RIYADH — The Ministry of University Education announced on Monday the allocation of 15 fellowship seats for Saudi doctors in German hospitals. The application can be submitted from Jan. 5 until 12:00 p.m. on Jan. 12. The ministry stated that doctors will obtain general fellowship (medical residency) in the Charité in Germany, one of the largest university hospitals in Europe. There are 12 seats in the specialties of anesthesiology, neurology and neurosurgery, urology, nephrology, gastroenterology, gynecology and obstetrics, neonatology, radiology and oncology, in addition to three seats in other medical specialties. The ministry has announced the conditions for applying for the program, of which the duration is six years, including a preparatory and a language course for a period of 14 months. The conditions include completion of the bachelor's degree with an excellent grade. The application form must be attached with the required documents such as academic and professional certificates; professional classification awarded by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties; documents supportive of academic record and recommendations, in addition to a copy of the passport, and financial guarantee with a recent date from the scholarship authority concerned with employees.
