JAZAN – Dozens of female students fainted at Jazan University after a short circuit ignited a fire inside a building on the campus. The students rushed for the building's exit but were prevented from leaving by security guards. Many of the students fainted in the ensuing panic. Jazan Civil Defense spokesman Maj. Gen. Yehya Al-Qahtani said firefighters were dispatched to the scene and they evacuated the entire building and contained the fire. The students were rushed to hospital for treatment and were later discharged. A Civil Defense committee will be formed to inspect the entire building and send a report to the concerned authorities.
