Saudi Gazette report RIYADH – Security authorities detained two relatives of Arwa Baghdadi, who is facing terrorism charges in the Kingdom, in the wake of her reported escape to Yemen after she was released on bail, media reports said on Thursday. Baghdadi's father and brother were arrested on charges of breaching the bail conditions when they failed to produce the suspect at a court hearing at the Dhahban prison outside Jeddah, Al-Hayat Arabic daily reported quoting family sources. The US-Saudi citizen was arrested a day after her brother Muhammad was killed during violent clashes with the security forces in Saudi Arabia in late 2011. Her husband and other relatives were also arrested at the same time. The court had granted bail to Baghdadi after her father and brother gave a written undertaking that they were fully responsible for producing her in court whenever required. After her release, Baghdadi remained at her relatives' house for some time before vanishing. Reports said Baghdadi fled to Yemen in the company of her brother Anas, his wife and a small child she reportedly gave birth in prison. She left behind her three other sons from Yaseen Al-Amri, who is still imprisoned in the Kingdom on terror charges. Baghdadi's family members allegedly colluded with her in planning the escape. They were accused of failing to inform the security authorities about the plot even though they had prior knowledge about it. Baghdadi tweeted on Monday that she reached Yemen and has joined the “mujahideen”, a reference to the combatants of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. In her tweet, Baghdadi apologized to her father.
