The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and representatives of competent authorities received here on Sunday the first Umrah batch for this season coming from Indonesia and Pakistan. In attendance were Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Mohammed Saleh Bin Taher Benten, his deputy Dr. Abdulfattah Bin Sulaiman Mashat and Director of KAIA Isam Noor. The move comes in implementation of the royal directives to allow the performance of Umrah and visit gradually as per four stages together with strict precautionary and preventive measures necessary to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The measures in place are to achieve two goals simultaneously: preserving human safety on one hand and meet the wish of so many Muslims from inside and outside the Kingdom to perform Umrah and visit on the other. In a press statement, the ministry said Umrah performers would be subject to a three-day medical isolation upon their arrival. According to the plan, 20,000 Umrah performers, 60,000 worshippers and 19,500 visitors will be allowed per day with strict precautionary and preventive measures taken as per the operating capacity of the holy places. — SPA
