RIYADH — Saudi Arabia recorded on Saturday 402 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, four more than from Friday's figure of 398, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. Nineteen more patients died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, the ministry said. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 347,282 and virus-related fatalities to 5,402. The ministry also reported 433 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 333,842. Of the new cases, Madinah recorded the highest with 59 followed by Buraidah with 44, Hail with 33, and Makkah with 32, Yanbu with 24 and Jeddah with 12 infections. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom. Meanwhile, active cases have also significantly dropped with 8,038 reported on Saturday, out of which 766 are critical, the statement added.
