RIYADH — Saudi Arabia has confirmed 601 new coronavirus cases, raising the total to 325,651, as the daily toll continues to drop, the health ministry announced on Sunday. There were 643 cases recorded on Saturday. The death toll also increased to 4,268 after 28 new fatalities were recorded, according to the health ministry. Meanwhile, the number of recoveries increased to 302,870 as 1,034 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals, health ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying. Jeddah topped the list on Sunday with 53 new infections. There were 44 cases each in Hufof and Makkah, 40 in Riyadh, 31 in Dammam, 30 in Madinah and 24 each in Al-Mobarraz and Hail. The rest of the cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom, Dr. Al-Abdel Ali said. Saudi Arabia recorded its highest daily on increase on June 19 when 4,301 cases were confirmed over a 24-hour period.
