GENEVA — Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri, Saudi Arabia's former minister of economy and planning and the Kingdom's nominee for the post of Director-General at the World Trade Organization, has held here a number of meetings with officials at WTO, on the sidelines of his visit to Geneva to submit his nomination statement. Al-Tuwaijri, who is currently serving as royal court adviser, has met with the outgoing Director-General of the WTO, Roberto Azevedo, the Arab Group, the Group of Article XII in WTO, as well as the group of Latin American and Caribbean states at WTO, in the presence of the permanent representative of Saudi Arabia to WTO. It is worth mentioning that the Al-Tuwaijri will present on Friday his opening statement, and a press conference will be held to answer media inquiries about his candidacy.
