MANAMA — Bahrain on Friday recorded 511 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the kingdom to 24,081, according to the country's health ministry. The ministry also said that 524 more patients have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 18,501. Of the new cases, 320 were among expatriate workers, while 190 were found to have come into contact with active cases. Additionally, one case is travel-related, the ministry said. The new cases were detected after the ministry conducting 8,600 additional COVID-19 tests, taking the total number of tests done so far in the kingdom to 511,458. The ministry also confirmed two more deaths resulting from complications caused by the coronavirus infection, pushing the total number of fatalities in the country to 71. "There are currently 136 COVID-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 38 are in a critical condition. 5471 cases are stable out of a total of 5,509 active cases," the ministry tweeted.
